Macworld (US) March 2008
PDF | English | 19 MB
Macworld is a web site and monthly computer magazine dedicated to Apple Macintosh products. It is published by Mac Publishing, which is headquartered in San Francisco, California. Published since 1984, the magazine has the largest audited circulation (both total and newsstand) of Macintosh-focused magazines in North America, more than double its nearest competitor, Mac|Life (formerly MacAddict). Macworld was founded by David Bunnell (publisher) and Andrew Fluegelman (editor). In 1997, the publication was renamed to Macworld, incorporating MacUser (a name reflected subtly on the magazine's Table of Contents page) to reflect the consolidation of the Ziff-Davis-owned MacUser magazine into the International Data Group-owned Macworld within the new Mac Publishing joint venture between the two publishers. In 1999, the combined company also purchased the online publication MacCentral Online, because Macworld didn't have a powerful online news component at the time. In late 2001 International Data Group (IDG) bought out Ziff-Davis' share of Mac Publishing, making it a wholly owned subsidiary of IDG.

Computer Shopper March 2008
PDF | English | 17 MB
The magazine at one time held the record of being the heaviest magazine, totalling well over 800 pages per issue on a large 10" x 15" format. Most of these were advertisements for mail order computer & computer parts stores. Since the rise of the world wide web and online ordering the magazine has shrunk a great deal, although it still features reviews of over 300 products per issue. The magazine was founded by Patch Communications in Titusville, FL in 1981. In 1982, Stan Veit was hired as Editor-In-Chief and the format of the magazine was changed. The Editorial was expanded to 25% of the content and the total circulation increased to over 200,000 copies per issue. In 1988 the magazine was purchased by Ziff Davis and moved to New York City. Stan Veit became Editor-In-Chief,Emeritus.

Tintin and Alph-Art
PDF | 24.22 MB | ENGLISH
Tintin and Alph-Art (French: Tintin et l'alph-art) is the twenty-fourth and final book in the Tintin series, created by Belgian comics artist Hergé. It is a striking departure from the earlier books in tone and subject, as well as in some parts of the style, due to Hergé having lost interest in telling more stories in the mold of his earlier 'Tintin'-books.
Hergé worked on the book until his death in 1983, and it was published posthumously (despite its unfinished status) in 1986 by Casterman in association with La Fondation Hergé, and was republished in 2004 with further material.

Exploring the Secrets of the Aurora (Astrophysics and Space Science Library)Springer; 1 edition | ISBN:1402006853 | 246 pages | August 31, 2002 | DJVU | 8 Mb
Prominent progress in science is inevitably associated with controversies. Thus, young researchers, in particular, have to learn how to persevere during the period of controversy and struggle for acceptance. Unfortunately, the skills needed are not taught in textbooks or monographs, which mostly describe the consensus of contemporary experts. This book, which is based on my own experiences as a scientist, describes the history of the progress made in auroral science and magnetospheric physics by providing examples of ideas, controversies, struggles, acceptance, and success in some instances. Although no general methodology (if any exists) is mentioned, I hope that the reader will learn about the history of progress in auroral science and examples (right or wrong) of dealing with the controversies.
